    Duties : Candidate must be self motivated. The duties consist of troubleshooting , maintenance and repairs of all golf course equipment. The ability to manage inventory and parts ordering. Must have a strong background in electrical and hydraulic systems. Small gasoline engines,utility and cart repairs as well as commercial equipment repairs.

    The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent.  Under the Superintendent’s supervision, the Assistant Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance staff and training of golf course maintenance personnel.  The Assistant Superintendent may serve in the Superintendent’s capacity during his absence.

    • Assist in planning and supervising the maintenance of golf course.
    • Assist in scheduling work and supervises the maintenance staff.
    • Instruct maintenance personnel on the operations and care of mowing and other equipment.
    • Assist in pesticide calibration and operates application equipment.
    • Assist in the operations and maintenance of irrigation system.
    • Supervise ongoing special projects.
    • Perform assigned tasks as required.
    • Assist in personnel management and evaluations, employee safety, and personnel discipline. Maintain a perfect example of time keeping at the start of the workday and by clocking out when the work shift ends.  
    Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience in course maintenance based on education
    • Basic computer skills with emphasis on Excel and Word
    • Must be proficient in all golf course equipment and be able to train employees on use.
    • Ability to work outside with extreme temperatures, rocky and hilly terrain, exposure to pesticides and various turf chemicals.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Responsible for total work flow of “Used” inventory through the equipment department. To include data entry, tracking and company inventory process.
    • Coordinate all lease returns and detailed evaluations between customer and the service department
    • Approve all refurbishment costs through Corporate Sales Coordinator
    • Work with all Finance Companies (Wells Fargo & John Deere) on Net 30 Floor Plans.
    • Oversee monthly Wells Fargo audit.
    • Produce and distribute a Lease return schedule for upcoming 12 months and responsible for monthly update.
    • Responsible for all trade-in’s and their pick up and entry into the inventory system.
    • Responsible for all coordination of Tournament Support inventory; Delivery, Pick-Up and condition evaluation upon return.
    • Create monthly Used Equipment inventory list for sales flyer and posting on company website.
    • Organize and chart physical location of all Used Inventory.
    • Keep up to date with all used equipment pricing in the market place, by using multiple on line and magazine sources. Objective to become proficient in market pricing for all related used inventory.
    • Communicate with sales force on request for used equipment NOT in inventory.
    • Establish relationships with other John Deere distributors, to better be able to purchase or sell equipment to or from them.
    • Responsible for updating Corporate Website “Used Equipment” section with web administrator.

    PRIMARY JOB TASKS 

    • Provides management of the City-owned Centennial Golf Course.
    • Markets and promotes the Department and its services.
    • Plans, organizes, schedules and oversees various recreational activities and golf programs.

    • PGA professional membership is desirable.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and/or post-offer physical exam.
    • Must possess valid State of Tennessee Driver’s license.
