2016 University of Tennessee Herbicide Resistance Field Day
April 12, 2016 | TPC Southwind, Memphis TN
Come see the latest research on controlling annual bluegrass (Poa annua) in turf as well as on-going projects focused on ultradwarf bermudagrass greens management.
The 2016 event will be slightly different from what we’ve done in years past as we’ve eliminated the classroom portion. This will be a true Field Day with all educational content being presented outside. There will be two main stops on this plot tour.
--The main stop of the tour will be an annual bluegrass control trial located alongside the driving range at TPC Southwind. Our goal is to show attendees all of the tools available for annual bluegrass control in turf to facilitate building herbicide programs based on product rotation.
— The second stop on the plot tour will be a demonstration by Ph.D. student Eric Reasor on the benefits of measuring golf ball dispersion on ultradwarf putting surfaces rather than simply relying on stimpmeter ratings.
Once the tour is complete, the plan is to eat lunch and then have golf available for anyone that might be interested in playing TPC Southwind.
We will likely be able to offer 2 pesticide credits to attendees from both TN and MS, as well as GCSAA certification points.
