Golf Course and Equipment Overview:
The Jackson Country Club is seeking an experienced, highly motivated and detail oriented person to fill the role of Equipment Manager in the golf maintenance department.
The Jackson Country Club is a private, member owned club that was established in 1914. The golf course has been in its current location since 1928. The golf course management team consists of 10 full time staff and 5 seasonal staff. The golf course sits on 130 acres just off Interstate 40 in Jackson. The course is has 3.2 acres of greens, 2 acres of tees, 20 acres of fairways and 90 acres of rough.
Our equipment fleet is comprised of both leased and owned equipment. It is a combination of Toro and John Deere equipment. We have a lease package being replaced in May 2019 and the equipment manager will be expected to have input and work closely with the golf course superintendent in evaluating future equipment needs. In addition to new mowing equipment we have recently replaced our reel and bed knife grinders with an Express Dual 4000DX reel grinder and Angle Master 4000 DXi bed knife grinder.
The Equipment Manager (EM) is responsible for the daily care, preventative maintenance and repair of all equipment associated with maintaining the golf course on a daily basis. This includes but not limited to developing a preventative maintenance program built around factory recommended maintenance schedules, documenting/record keeping of all work performed on each piece of equipment, maintaining a well-stocked inventory of commonly used parts, ensuring all safety devices are in place and functioning properly, daily checks of equipment while in operation on the course.
It is vital the EM be able to work quickly and efficiently when performing repairs and diagnostics. This person will be expected to manage and adhere to the Maintenance and Repair budget within the department. Being able to maintain a clean, organized and safe work space is essential.
The EM will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to ensure that all equipment is properly set up and in good working order to meet the daily needs of maintaining the golf course at the highest level.
